SCENAR Technology and Therapy

Vincent Bowyer et al - 10th March 2011

  • What is SCENAR

A hand-held, computerised device that looks a little like the remote control to a television. Its an electro-neuro adaptive regulator. When applied to your skin it emits a comfortable electrical pulse. At the same time, the SCENAR device measures the rate of reaction of your body to its impulses, and makes adjustments accordingly. The SCENAR is challenging your body to make changes.

SCENAR effects you in several ways.  With each electrical impulse an electromagnetic field is created. These electromagnetic impulses penetrate the skin, nerve fibres, cells and organs.Every cell in your system is affected.  Because of your body’s reaction to the SCENAR impulse, your cells will begin to produce neuropeptides. Neuropeptides (referred to as the body’s internal pharmacy) regulate almost all functions and life processes. This causes a cascading, chain reaction effect, which in turn creates a long-lasting body response.

In a perfect world your body should be able to heal itself.  Sometimes it gets 'stuck in a rut' and seemingly loses its way.

In SCENAR and holistic medicine theory, the main mechanism of life is adaptation. The human organism survives by adapting to every outside influence so as to maintain an internal balance (homoeostasis). The body adapts in different ways - one of these is by way of disease, which we term ‘incorrect adaptation’.  Imagine a child falls over and scrapes a knee. Without any intervention the knee will scab and heal within a week. How? The child is otherwise healthy and so the normal homeostasis mechanisms within the human body go to work to complete the adaptive processes required for the skin to heal. No thought or action by the child is required.

Now, consider a bedridden person in the nursing home gets a tear in their skin – it develops into a festering bedsore and does not heal. Why not? Because the person is bedridden due to ill health. As a result the body’s normal homeostasis mechanisms are engaged in the areas of highest need within the body - i.e. the ill health that is life threatening and has put them in bed. A tear in the skin - the body’s largest organ is not here a "life threatening" event as far as the body is concerned. It gets ignored and the adaptive processes required for the skin to heal do not complete and that is why the skin does not heal.

The main aim of SCENAR is to restore ‘normal adaptation’ mechanisms. Every treatment method is an outside influence, and our body systems must react to it. That is why we observe the reactions from the body’s adaptation systems during SCENAR procedures. In SCENAR therapy we view adaptation mechanisms as self-healing mechanisms. By helping to correct the body’s adaptation mechanisms SCENAR helps to correct self-healing mechanisms.
Thus, SCENAR therapy in general is a correction of the body’s self-healing mechanisms of adaptation

Testimonials

John (63) from Ballina says "I can't believe that I can move my neck again.  I have been in pain for many months now and have become quite irritable. I feel like I can have my life back!"

Kath (57) from Lismore has been active all her life. In recent years her knees have been letting her down. She puts it to age but says she is too young too hang up her walking boots. After a course of SCENAR treatment she says that friends and colleagues are commenting on how good she looks. She has set a date to walk the Inca Trail later this year.
